Palace Theatre
The Palace Theatre is one of London's grand Victorian theatres and has been standing since 1891. The theatre began by hosting comedies but, in the latter part of the 20th century it moved towards musicals, hosting the original productions of The Sound of Music and Jesus Christ Superstar. The venue is noted for its extravagant outdoor displays and at the moment it features a shower of giant red, yellow and blue umbrellas in ode to its current production, Singin' in the Rain. Previous displays have even included a 10 foot stiletto!
Guests of the hotel would do well to book themselves Singin' in the Rain tickets as it is proving to be one of London's most popular current musicals. The timeless classic has been adapted from the original MGM movie but re-imagined in a contemporary style. The performance will be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, although children under 5 will, regrettably, not be permitted entrance to the theatre. Come along for a night of fun filled with mesmerising visuals and songs that you forgot you loved! Don't forget to bring a raincoat though - the rain sequence can get quite wet!
